We support all genuine movements for democracy whether they are led by communists or not. But beyond that of course we pay particular attention, and give special support, to fellow communists.

We also have no intention of saying that communists in Iran are anything bigger or stronger than they are, but if the Iranian state saw then as "marginal" and "fringe" then why do they throw so many of them in jail and torture them? And obviously this kind of repression plays some role in keeping them small for now. But that does not mean that Iranians will not, and are not now, fighting for freedoms and democracy. And people like the Freedom and Equality Seeking Students and Mansour Osanloo are playing a leading role in that and deserve our support.

To support Iranian movements is one thing, but to support it because they comport with your ideology is another....to me, that sounds self-serving....no?

Not that I agree with Communism ... in fact it is a dead, discredited political/economic doctrine....but I digress...

Communists in Iran are marginal fringe groups in much the same way that Mosley's BUF (British Fascists) in Britain was a fringe group. . . . .

There is much to be said about that comment especially since many Iranians - even today - support, still, Prime Minister Mossadegh who was overthrown in 53 by the CIA and MI:6. Mossadegh was a fierce opponent of socialism/communism especially in the back drop of the 1917 Russian Revolution....

It may be an idea for presentation purpose to set the number of articles in one page at 5, otherwise it is very difficult to navigate all of the articles/postings on the blog.

Thank you, I am not in iran now, I am studying in Italy, but about 30 of my friends arrested in 2 days. We need international organization and other socialist students around the world to help us.
