About CS
Communist Students is here to promote Marxism on our campuses, campaign for democracy in all spheres of life, and fight to replace capitalism with communism. Not the ‘communism’ of Stalin’s Soviet Union, but a free and democratic world society. CS was established in 2006 by members and supporters of the Communist Party of Great Britain and we maintain links with the CPGB, but we are an autonomous organisation.
Members of CS must will not be silenced or expelled if they disagree with the majority line. Members are free to form factions within the organisation. Open debate and democracy are needed if the left is to move forward. We engage other left student groups with the aim of unity on the basis of marxism and open debate. We also bring the communist message directly onto campus.
